Daddy, Glad no one was hurt. It's amazing all the things that can go wrong, even when we think we know what we are doing. I also have two boats with two different size balls (man, that just doesn't sound right LOL). I am lucky the trailers are different heights so I have to use two different drawbar...

Boy you guys are tough on the newbies. This is my first summer owning a boat other than my FL14 (very easy to launch/retrieve). Normally, my wife drives our 19 footer on the trailer while retrieving as she absolutely refuses to drive the truck with a trailer attached. This has worked very well for u...

Don't know what the weight limit is, but I have had 4 large adults and 2 kids with coolers, gear etc.. No problem on calm water, plenty of freeboard left. It was a short ride. 3 adults with lots of gear is no problem in most conditions on this boat.

Next boat ramblings -long - sorry

Hi everyone, About 3 years ago I built an FL14 and posted regularly. I still have it, in fantastic shape, great boat. This was the first boat I owned. I live 2 miles from a Lake Michigan boat ramp so I know I want to build another, larger boat. One thing I learned is that you must know how you are g...

Jim,

I was wondering where you got your plywood. I was unable to find any locally. Was hoping you did, or did you have it shipped? From where?

Thanks,

Jim,

There is no email icon on your post. You can email me though and I will get back to you. I work in Mequon, so it's probably not too far from you.

See Ya

Jim,

Where are you at? I am in South Milwaukee. I built an FL14 several years ago (actually for sale now) and would love to watch your progress, and/or lend a hand.
I have considered building this boat, but I just bought a 30 something year old Sea Ray to keep me occupied until I build again.

Douglas,

I see you are in Milwaukee, so am I. I would love to come look at both of your boats. I have a FL14 from this site that I built a couple years ago. Trying to decide on the next boat.

I just went thru the same thing picking a trolling motor for my FL14. i bought a Minnkota Vector 46lb thrust model because I was able to get it at half price. For strictly trolling purposes, this is too much for the FL14. I have to use ocassional bursts to completely control speed. One of the main r...
