Re: XF20 Mod Flats/Flounder rig build

Mine doesn't have any battens but my jig did and it was a real pain fussing with dimensioned lumber, use ply if you can.

Re: XXXF20 Build

You can go up a couple of inches if you switch to a 4 bladed prop with extra cupping and rake, like this one http://www.ptprop.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=19&category_id=25&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuema...

Re: willg's PH18

That came out sweet!! the channel drain is the way I've seen it done too but if your compartments already drain no big deal.

Re: XXXF20 Build

:D I took the kayaks out to check depth of one area that I often cut through. I paddled into the shallowest part and what I thought was 2-3 inches deep was more like 6-7 inches. More than likely I can leave the motor like it is but I did mistakenly take a wrong turn and polish the strakes once :help...

Re: XF20 Mod Flats/Flounder rig build

lol, yeah no we were doing the sandbar thing that day )) 4 is comfy fishing though. The 2 strokes seem to have more torque I guess, I prefer 4 strokes, maybe some have better gear ratios than others. Mine is 2.15, not so great. I was shocked because this was my first experience with a micro drafting...

Re: XF20 Mod Flats/Flounder rig build

You're going to love the stability and space when fishing, I never had so many fishing guests lol...Since you've run those shallow sports then you know the need for larger diameter cupped props so a 2 stroke 90 would be minimum as far as Im concerned, otherwise go with at least a 115 4 stroke like I...

Re: XXXF20 Build

Was ugly this weekend so no pics of boat in water, spent my time fitting new compression plate. Hoping this will help as I go to raise motor another 3 inches. http://www.mantaproductions.com/XF20/plate6ss.jpg http://www.mantaproductions.com/XF20/plate7ss.jpg http://www.mantaproductions.com/XF20/plat...

Re: XF20 Mod Flats/Flounder rig build

Any extra weight is going to be a plus on that boat. Im finding that I run much better when I have eight people on board, otherwise I launch in just a little chop and its slap slap slap!!
