Re: Wouter's PH18 Namibia

Wouter, I forgot to mention in my last post that your speed will be in the mid 40's now and your weight goes up to 4740 now. If you have not thought of moving some weight forward I would do so. Regards Tom 4740 lbs (2154 kg)?? Is that figure correct Tom? My boat is waaaaaay bigger and only weighs 1...

Re: Bass Boat

Sexy is good. I’m a normal man and appreciate good curves as much as anyone. 8) I think it is also fair to say that sexy can be dangerous too... especially as it applies to 16 year old boys!!! :!: Another valid point to take into consideration as we look into the most appropriate choice for t...

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

Thanks Jaysen and OQ. Most helpful. :) Spent this afternoon fine tuning the camber then gluing in the U-beam that will support the aft deck and the removable inspection panel. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/87242/normal_aft_inspection_hatch_frame_glued_in.jpg That curved stuff is really...

Re: Bass Boat

Reading about all the boat builds is a double edged sword: it inspires and scares me at the same time! I am half way through the the build threads for both wegcagle and bassmun. And I'm reading Peter's build stories too--both of them! It is cool to see all the support and camaraderie that exists he...

Re: Bass Boat

Also, imo if I was going to build a crazy go fast pro-style bass boat I would go for the Mangusta 20, and just modify the shear to a traditional bass boat deck design. If I was looking for economy (and slow your son down :D) I’d lean more towards the GV15/17 or PH16/18. Both styles have a wider bea...

Stunning clear sunny winter day in Noosa today, so I went sailing. Wonderful. :D
Tomorrow promises to be as good, but because I'm a hair shirt, I'll probably be back building Skinnydip. :?
How do you do that Michael?

Over the bar, out into the wild blue, then back over the bar?

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

Rogerdog, welcome back! Your battery charging setup seems less than ideal to me! I have 6 x 12V 120 Amp hour batteries in my boat: 1 x start/crank battery 2 x house batteries connected in parallel 3 x trolling motor batteries connected in series to give 36V The crank battery is connected to the hous...

Re: Bass Boat

The GP21 built as a bass boat certainly fits the bill, as would one of the Phantoms. Don’t be put off by the fact that nobody appears to have built one. There could be a number of reasons: 1) just hasn’t happened yet 2) it has happened but they haven’t posted on here There are plans for Phantoms in ...

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

I’ve been searching for words of encouragement Michael.

I like CL’s, “It’s only a thang”!

My background is in science, and the scientist in me says that there is an explanation, and a solution. The challenge is in finding those two things.
