Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Hi Bogie, The boat looks beautiful and I hold thumbs for the launching. Can you also take a photo of the L brackets towards the rear when installed where You will attach PVC pipes for guiding. I still have to do this on my trailer because my present solution is rather poor. I screwed a flower box wi...

Re: Bruce Crandall Flyer Hydroplane

Hi Peter,
It is good to see You again into Hydroplane building. I love the picures and cannot wait to see your boat finished. Keep up the good work.

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Hi, I am a bit late with my idea, but Jasons Spanish windlass next to the rear pipe will work and you can arrest it with a little round hook at the end of the wooden piece and just push the hook against the vertical rail. But I also agree with Tony just splash and see what you still have to do. Ther...

Re: Beer barrel staves

Hi,
I have learned again a lot by reading this post and I really love the birds houses of Tony. I wonder if one can still buy new hand drills like I have seen in the video.

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Hi Bogey, Your main sheet will have its block in the cockpit near the transom like George, Salvatore and Bondo have it on their AD s. I just checked the push pits and found I bought them as a Christmas present for myself on December 3 rd 2017 and had it cheap in my memory. I bought them from the wel...

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Hi Bogey, Here is the promised picture and you might use something like this to attach the main sheet block Tony was asking for. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/87433/20200125_102634.jpg And lots of luck with finishing the last bits so we can sail against each other in Spring you in the U...

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Hi Bogie, I started building my own push pits until I found these from an Italian manufacturer. I strongly advise you to give your rails a forward support ( = make it triangular ) which is needed because of peoples weight against the sides when sitting on the benches. Your pipe might bend exactly wh...

Re: AD16 rudder: Ronstan spring & clevis pin

Hi Bogey, I was also puzzled what was meant with this ronstan pin, but when I bought my 3 piece rudder fittings I found out that there was also a small strip of stainless steel with it which needs to e srewed to the transom and prevents the rudder to move up. When one wants to remove the rudder I mu...

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Hi Bogie,
Your boat looks really phantastic.. When you turn the boat do not forget to fasten the centre board in the cockpit tight so it cannot move while the guys are turning it. Good luck with the flip.
