Re: Adelie centerboard pivot

Hallo Bondo, Thank you for answering my question about the delrin part. Even that it is not on the plan/required I like the idea and I will also make it like that. You even answered my not expressed question about to much space between centerboard and case. ( Another worry less ) One thing about the...

Re: AD 14 KIELGE

Thanks KS8 for encouraging me to carry on a bit faster in Winter.
It took me so long because I had some chores like painting ten doors of my 110 year old house and getting the garden
ready for Winter.
Greetings from Karl

Re: AD 14 KIELGE

Hi, At last I have cut all the plywood panels for bottom, sides, transom, rudder, keelshoe, centerboard and centerboard case. Now I carry on over Winter to laminate the pieces in my cellar workshop which has a steady 17 degrees celsius. I also melted about 45 kg of lead which I got from a scrap yard...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo Bondo, Thanks very much for the pivot explanation which brings me to another question. The picture of your pivot assembly shows the Delrin squares as if it consists of 3 parts. Did you fit on the middle plywood part of the centerboard a smaller square of Delrin plastic so that it funtions the ...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo Jacques and Bondo, Thank you very much for the extensive discussion about the small centerboard problems I have. I can fit the centerboard to fit the trunk if I follow Bondos advice of the right angle at the top of the case and then I can keep the tip of the board 20 mm ( 3/8 ") away from the ...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo Bondo ( and Jacques ), Thanks for the info that you also had problems with the trunk. I definitely could not arrive at the von Jacques supplied picture with the red and yellow outlines of the trunk on full size measurements. He has drawn the trunk top practically parallel to the keel which doe...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo Jacques, Thank You for answering my questions about the keelshoe. Unfortunately I have now a question about the centerboard trunk. I have cut the the keel according to plan measurements of plan B264/8 and the fullsize plan fits perfectly on it . The centerboard trunk measurements dont match th...

Re: AD 14 KIELGE

Hallo Bondo, Thanks for the adice about building the keelshoe.I have one more question about it. According to the plan one should make at the bow end a 25 mm ( about 1 " on your plan ) radius. I cannot see it on any of your pictures. Did you prefer it to be pointed and when yes why ? Greetings from ...

Hi,
I copied the side loading system from a late American J.Dobler who had it patented in the 1980 s.

Micro-Petrel August 2013 gonandkarl

This little rowing boat was the first boat I built and was the test before I started building an Adelie 14. I made enough mistakes: 1. I used locally available birch plywood 6.5 mm instead of light weight okoume ( 6 mm ) according to the plan. The hull weight of 28 kg I exceeded by 15 Kg. 2. I used ...
