Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Is the trunk already fully assembled? If not you need to ensure no paint is in the area to be glued. Paint bond isn’t as strong as glue bond. Make sense? Hi Jaysen! No it's not assembled yet. Before doing any painting I taped all those areas to prevent paint from getting on them. I was going to tak...

Looking good it will get easier to work on now once you start to get those frames into place it will get stiffer each step get closer to getting the deck on that is when you start to see results.
Thanks Das boot! It's crazy how much she stiffened even with just that one frame installed.

Wow!! That boat is looking good! You will be sailing this summer!
Ha! Maybe if I win the lottery. To be honest I've slowed things down a little because I don't want it to end.

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

As I understand it, you have it joined the two halves of the case. If this is correct, make sure you clean any paint off the mating surfaces before you join the case. Paint tends to be less ... structural ... then wood, glass or glue. You wouldn’t want the paint adhesion to fail in the middle of a ...

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

I did more work on the inside of the CB case today, giving it a couple coats of Valspar porch paint. It needs another light sanding and another coat, then I'll post pics. I've also spent the past few days sanding the internal frames to ensure proper fit inside the hull. Everything in the pics below ...

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

I taped a paint brush to a long stick sloppy but it worked https://forums.bateau2.com/download/file.php?id=3917&mode=view Isn't that the CB case right there all pretty in epoxy? Is there anyway to paint it before final assembly? Hi OQ! Yup, that's the CB Case. I bought some white Valspar porch pain...

I did my keel pivot the same way 12 years later no leeks around that area
Hi there George! Wow, that's good to know. Did you paint the inside of your CB Case or just epoxy coat? Right now I have about three thick coats of epoxy on it and it's solid.

I take it the pivot shaft is above the waterline?
Come to think of it, I'm not really sure. It's probably close either way.

P.S. I typed this once before but when I hit send it went poof! It might show up as a double.
