Re: Hurricane Damage Coach's SC-16

Coach, Sorry to see the damage to such a beautiful boat! Hope the repairs go smoothly. I was looking through your original build thread and saw you had some really nice photos of the finished SC16. Would you mind sending me those photos in an email? I would like to feature your boat on our website, ...

Skoota 18 Build Question

This is a question that has come in from a potential builder, Bob from Vancouver Island: Hello I am interested in the Skoota 18 ft. I live on Vancouver Island in western Canada and would like to use it as a fishing boat. I usually fish close to shore but occasionally venture 1 or 2 kilometers off sh...

Re: Texas Flats Boat

Whit,

AAA Cooper has really done a nice job with their text alert system!

I got to say, you are probably making a lot of people jealous (including me) by showing off that nice pole barn!

Keep us posted on the progress, I am looking forward to it!

Re: FS-17 Again

Rover1, It appears that you are tightening your zip ties way too tight! In the last picture, if you loosen the top 2 zip ties the tips of the bottom panels will probably come together much easier. With any stitch and glue boat, you MUST leave a gap between plywood panels to allow the fillet material...

Re: 2020 Southeastern Boat Builders Meet

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who attended the Meet this year. I know it was a challenging year with everything going on in the country. Sorry we missed a few of you who had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, but there is always next year! The food was great, definitely have to me...

Re: how long to wait before primer?

You want to make sure the epoxy and fairing compound has fully cured and is done with any "off-gassing". I like to wait 5 days to be sure.

Re: 2020 Southeastern Boat Builders Meet

We have a 10'x10' pop up as well that I will bring. I will place a call to River Palms to see if we can use the pavilion in the likely case of rain. (otherwise, bring your foul weather gear!!)

Re: 2020 Southeastern Boat Builders Meet

Hey everyone, I wanted to check in and let everyone know that we are still a go for the Builder's Meet coming up on July 10-12. As of now River Palms is still open and running as usual. Here is a quick rundown of the schedule of events (very casual as you know): Friday, July 10th: 3:00 pm Check in a...

Re: SK14 in TX

AggieGirl, Fuzz is absolutely right! Probably not what you want to hear but you need to get spacing in between EVERY panel. You don't want any wood touching wood, you want a small gap so the fillet can do its job. I would start over, cut the zip ties, and add some spacers. I think you will see the g...
