Re: anybody know anything about jet boats?

I need to replace the steering and shift cables on a Whaler Rage for a friend. The job looks kind of iffy as the through-hull fittings where the cables emerge into the drive area are pretty inaccessible. But first, I have to find someone who has parts, so any help would be appreciated. i am rebuild...

Re: Texas Jet Boat Fiberglass Repair

i just wanted to give you guys some back story on this boat and why i have been so inclined to keep it and fix it up. most would have looked at this and said trash it and sell what you can off the jet drive, a lot have told me to do this. My uncle had the boat since new, he built it. actually,...

Re: Texas Jet Boat Fiberglass Repair

i managed to get the boat on the trailer by myself this holiday weekend. it is now in the shop, waiting for the final assembly. but i still need to order motor parts and put the 455 back together. Under the tarp are some tires to help cushion the fall. the last pic shows a mishap. one of the rollers...

Re: Texas Jet Boat Fiberglass Repair

Finally, a good window of weather to paint. Last Saturday had a high of 78, perfect for painting. so i got after it. i used Interlux VC Performace. i had read it was good for below the water line and for trailered boats. there are some things i missed about this paint, like that it has no UV protect...

I will, but it will not be this weekend. It's 80% rain all weekend. But the following weekend looks promising

Re: Texas Jet Boat Fiberglass Repair

Luke, no, not needed!! I am confident the primer is completely dry so no issues with the rain. You will need to ensure the boat is again completely dry before painting but a tarp is over kill!!! Jeff Ah, ok. I still need to sand it before paint. When I do that I will be sure it is clean and dry Luke
