Re: HELP!! Anybody got a tip on removing rubber cement

3m adhesive remover is available on amazon and works wonders. It's a mix of xylene and other solvents, so just xylene may be just as good, but I know this stuff works.

Re: FS 17 - Raised Sheer

Really nice work :D I guess I missed it but will the fuel tank be plastic or metal? Fuel tank is plastic. It will be held down with the manufacturers brackets at the front but no room on the sides. Instead these blocks will hold only a few inches at the bottom of the corners snug, leaving an 1/2" o...

Re: FS 17 - Raised Sheer

I made up the pads for the fuel tank area that will secure the corners, and test fit them. Should be snug with the rubber strips but leaves plenty of room in the middle of the spans for expansion. PqxVdmA Also laminated the anchor hatch from 3 layers of 1/4" ply to match the curve of the bow deck. A...

Nicely done! Looks like Fusion 360 is your friend too. A great tool for doing this kind of work!
Yea nice that they offer it for free to hobbyists as well. Was a bit of a learning curve coming from solidworks but mostly happy with it. Great place to get started I think.

Re: FS 17 - Raised Sheer

Mocked up the location of the swing arms for the seat. They are overly long since I can't get the length before cushions are in place, but wanted to get the pivot locations so I could install backing plates. XjSROsc Also glued up the inset for the throttle. B3zTuQs Glued in the mounting brackets for...

Re: Panga 20 Build

I have the same gemlux duckbill thru hull and will be doing the same setup as Ruben. Using 1.5" ID fuel fill hose between the inner and outer thru hulls because I have some extra. I just cut the inner thru hull down from a normal one because I wanted stainless steel for looks. This album shows what ...

Re: GT27 Build (Wes K)

Has anyone used these from Gemlux ? They are a simple no maintenance type of check valve that you insert in between your ball valve and thru hull fitting. I've purchased them and will be using them on my fs17, not splashed yet though so no performance report. Initially I will be using without a val...

Re: 23 ft Hartley Cabin boat repair/rebuild and hull extension

Flowcoat is gelcoat with added wax which allows it to cure. If you sand the top layer down you can recoat the surface again. I have tested it on a scrap piece, hence I am not concerned at the moment. Cheers! In my area of the states this is usually referred to as finish gel coat or just gel coat an...

Re: FS 17 - Raised Sheer

Today I moved the boat from the cradle to the trailer. Access will be a little harder now but I need to be ready to bring it in for motor mounting. I started by jacking up the back of the boat and putting it on some blocks. Then around frame B I jacked it up on each side and pulled the cradle out 1 ...

Re: FS 17 - Raised Sheer

Tell me more about the head lights. Those look sweet! Make sure you have room inside the console for the control cables for the throttle. I had to make a spacer to pull it out an inch when I went to a final install. When anchored I put it forward to clear the space between the leaning post and cons...
