I thought it was a pompano too, they are so close. but when 81 year old uncle johny says its a permit you just nod and agree lol, he's been guiding the river out of the same boat for 30+ years. 8) :lol: not saying he's right just saying you don't disagree haha

Thanks Everyone, I fish out of citrus county, Chassahowitzka mostly. The consensus at the bait house on the fish was a permit. we catch a couple runs of pompano and the occasional permit this time of year and then they are gone. I got the boat down to the river this morning for her first trip. It was foggy, cold, and the rain was just passing. Thanks guys, the anchoring system is a chassahowitzka special, it allows me to drop the front anchor without running behind my clients. it will work until i can afford a couple minkota talons. I have a pile of props to try out, so finding one that will work shouldn't be hard. i had the same motor on...

I tossed the old 2 smoke on her and am currently trying to button everything up. She'll get wet sometime this week or weekend... I ordered my decals for my Fl registration numbers from a local friends company. hoping they get here quick as mr. green jeans has been in the area quite frequently...

She passed the inspection. FWC guy was super cool, took a a length measurment, glanced at my giant pile of recipets(i saved every one) and printed out my paper. I'll be on the water soon!

I got the jackplate mounted today... waiting to fabricate a washer plate for the inside before i glue and tighten everything down. She'll be on the water in the next few weeks.
