Re: C19 in Richmond, VA

Hello Dan, I follow your build, looks nice! Did you make your flared bow in AutoCAD? Or will the result be something that will surprise you when it's done? I'm also interested in a flared bow on my CX21, can't wait to see yours. I've read somewhere on this forum it has been done before; are there an...

Re: Classic 21 Express "Sweet Esmaralda"

Hi changeat44 For my model, I used styrene sheets. A great source is Evergreen Scale Models in Washington state. https://www.google.com/search?safe=active&source=hp&ei=j5GbXaT0AcfjsAei_a9A&q=evergreen+scale+models&oq=evergreen+sc&gs_l=psy-ab.1.2.0i131j0l9.1252.7537..9436...0.0..0.438.4961.3-3j9.......

Great job, you can be proud of what you have achieved till now!
I can imagine you have had hard times with this enormous build, and you are still going strong!

Re: Classic 21 Express "Sweet Esmaralda"

Thanks Jacques,
I know Mr Boat, he organizes mini classes "working with epoxy". Been there this summer and followed one of his classes (you have to start somewhere don't you?).
Nice guy and a good instructor. I can recommend his classes for Dutch en Belgium builders.

Re: Classic 21 Express "Sweet Esmaralda"

I will look at Balsa, don't have experience with it, I thought it was very vulnerable at thin thicknesses.

Medicine cups, would never thought of that, very helpful, thanks Fallguy1000.

About a year ago I could have build a little Tower of Pisa from those cups  Glad that part is history :D

Re: Classic 21 Express "Sweet Esmaralda"

Great Dougster and Joe2700, thanks for your tips, I appreciate your quick answers! I give it a try to make my own and see how it works. Nice to know others have good results. It's all about measuring en prepping. I'll remember the 5 minutes epoxy and the cheap spoons. I want to fibreglass the boat w...

Re: Classic 21 Express "Sweet Esmaralda"

Thanks Fallquy1000, I think I didn't make myself clear, it's the language, I'm sorry. I will build the real one with Okoumé Marine Plywood BS1088 or similar quality that's for sure. I think it will not be cheap to ship it to The Netherlands. Of course, if it is possible and I get a good quotation fr...

Re: Classic 21 Express "Sweet Esmaralda"

Thanks Jacques for your quick reply, much appreciated! I will share my build step by step on this forum with pictures and questions. I live in Blankenham, a very small village near Blokzijl and Giethoorn. I will post some pictures of the environment here. We do have a lot of canals and small lakes h...
