Deck material for whitewater inflatable

I have a cataraft with an oar rig my wife and I use to float -fish water that my driftboat is not suited for. I'd like to add a deck that will extend over the side tubes and over the "bow", as both a casting deck and a perch for the pup on long floats. I know I can use plywood but am wondering if th...

Re: Panga 25 Nose Dive

Thanks OneWayTraffic, terrulian and VT_Jeff! I'll certainly keep the nose up and watch those swells. No swells this day, but lots of fish! http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/88974/normal_IMG_2402.JPG That rumbling you hear is a stampede of builders rushing to work on their boats after seein...

Re: Ongoing C19 questions...

I was going to use empty water bottles but have decided to use minicell foam, which is used a lot in the whitewater world for flotation and outfitting, and which I have a lot of since we pulled up a floor made of the stuff recently. I've seen too many photos of expanding foam being excavated to be c...

Made a self bailing fiberglass drain tube (12 oz biax and 10 oz cloth) from gift wrap tubes and paper.
That's a great idea, far better bond than PVC I would think.

Re: Splay fs14ls

I had that happen with my LM18 build. Let me make sure I have this straight: you started an LM18 in July of 2018, had two young kids at the time and added a 3rd, born during the build. Built an insanely nice boat with a complex custom console and mutiple hatches, and were filling it with fish by Se...

Re: Splay fs14ls

I had that happen with my LM18 build. I was worried pulling up with straps was going to create wavy look when looking down the hull so I filled with "Sludge" as you call it. I would have had a dip in the deck but fixed it with a rub rail planed to a level line I documented pretty well on my thread ...

Re: Splay fs14ls

That's a pretty significant gap. Agreed, and not sure how it came about. I think I need to determine if the splay will result in dip in the deck from to bow to stern, or if pulling them in will result in a hill, or where they need to be to get it flat from front to back, and what effect, if any, it...

Splay fs14ls

Debating if I should use some straps and try to train the sides back into shape or leave them and just fill the gap with scrap/sludge.
