TW28 - Precision Cut Plywood Kit

The website list BS 1008 Joubert Okoume plywood as the plywood used in the Precission Cut Plywood Kit.. Safe to assume that this is a misprint and the plywood supplied in the kit is Meranti? Also, who should I talk with about ordering the kit and possibly subsituting 3/8" Okoume for the 1/4" Meranti...

The helm pump (Kobelt 7005) I'm looking at is adjustable from 4-1/2 to 13 turns over 45-0-45 and 3-3/4 to 10-1/2 wheel turns over 35- 0-35 degrees.

I very much appreciate your advice.. and the access to you, Shine and Evan (as well as other boat builders) the forum provides -

Thanks for the reply Evan.. I went over the detail on the plans last night with the shop I'm working with and we are all set.

I reposted the question regarding rudder angle to "power boats".

Rudder angle for tw28 2x35 or 2x45

(I previously posted this in Builder's Power Boats, Evan suggested I repost here) I would like an opinion/recommendation regarding maximum rudder angle for the TW28.. I had planned (assumed) 35 degrees (70 degrees port to starboard), though a prop shop I've been working with suggested a Wagner T Ram...

skeg bar / rudder shoe for tw28

There isn't a detail for a "skeg bar or rudder shoe" on the plans for the TW28 and I want to know the designers intentions.. There are the standard bronze skeg bars available from Buck Algonquin that might work, and I ran into a gentleman at the Maine Boat Builders Show that custom makes them, but I...

TW28 maximum rudder angle, Jaques/Shine/anyone

I would like to know your opinion/recommendation regarding maximum rudder angle for the TW28.. I had planned on 35 degrees (70 degrees port to starboard), though a prop shop I've been working with suggested a Wagner T Ram which is 45/45 degress.. Most of what I've read says 35 should be max, but I'm...

Kobelt did up some calculations for me yesterday.. 350 ft-lbs or 474 N-m.. Their equipment is impressive and so far they are (and probably will be) the only manufacturer that got back to me! However, I did have my heart set on a rotary actuator, but I've olny been able to find two manufacturers.. Ma...

Hey Knottybuoy's - I found a good conversion caculator for you (and anobody else who may be interested) for changing torque units..

It's helpful because everyone lists their cylinders differently.
