Rick, You and I are polar opposites when it comes to outfitting this boat - You don't think that you're overdoing it? I usually clean off the dirt and grime with soap and water. Followed later by denatured alcohol which removes oils and grease. Having said that, i need to point out that I almost always do a test or sample before using something on a project..

I looked at the rebuilt perkins. Typically you need to have one to exchange or pay a big premium. I still like the Nani Kubota and Lugger. Lugger actually just opened a distributorship down the street from me. (I specifically mention that so Shine gives me a good quote on the Nani when the time come...

I like the the looks of the round hull shape don't know how it would effect performance.I also like strip plank as a core though it adds a lot of work compared to large plywood sheets. I too would be interested if it were possible without it being a total redesign
