Re: It pays to get your hardware in as you build

Dougster, I looked over how you did your mounting. I'm getting a lot of info from your threads. Thanks

Fallguy, good point, maybe I'll just overbore 1/4" deep or so and let the wood under it hold the screws. Or not over think it and just screws and 5200.
Thanks

It pays to get your hardware in as you build

I received my grabrail the other day. Btw beautiful grabrail! :D But it’s 18” wide instead of 16” so the backing plates midship aren’t wide enough. As per plans the stringers are 18” apart. I just added some sy pine to make it wide enough. I’ll just over drill, fill and put it down with screws and s...

Re: SK14 Frames

Thank y'all. Y'all both have some nice sk14s. If mine turns out half as nice as that I'll be happy. My sk is on a flat table so I weighted it down and it looks a lot better. The sides did flair out a little so I just pulled them back in with light pressure with long clamps. Just a little more tweaki...

SK14 Frames

Just started the SK14. It all took shape pretty good except for frames a, b, and c have large gaps at the hull bottom. I've double checked measurements, they just seem to need to be taller than the plans called for. The sides seem to be right. They are 1/2" to 3/4" short at the keel. Am I missing so...

Re: GF16 In The PSL

Very nice build. Don't be nervous about the carb cleaning. You obviously have the mechanical aptitude. Get a can of carb cleaner from an auto parts store, a good clean place to work (I use a oven broiler pan for small carbs), properly fitting screw drivers , compressed air might help (be very carefu...

Re: UPS Tracking....

UPS guarantees their days in transit, even ground shipments. If it's sitting in one place for four days, something's wrong. I've filed a couple of late delivery claims with them over 20+ years of shipping with them. Received a refund every time and passed it on to my customers. 99% of the time UPS i...
