Re: Cape Man's Dory

I'm sorry for your loss.
Sounds like Renegade was a rascal.

I lost my chocolate lab 'Homer' 3 years ago, he was also 13, and a great friend.

Re: @Craig..Home Brewing??????

Home brewing is fun and easy. I like the recipe packages from this place. http://ebrew.com/beer/recipe_packages.htm But they're in Charllotte, NC. I'm sure you can find some closer. Start buying beer in brown bottles that are NON TWIST OFF. Like 'Negra Modelo', 'Samuel Adams' etc. Green or clear bot...

Re: Reversible Controls?

Yes, a Yamaha 703 side mount control is reversible for use on the port side. The trim switch will be on the wrong side for using you right hand though. (I think, not sure)
If you need instructions let me know, I have a Yamaha rigging manual I found on E-bay.

Re: fs17 stringer

After you flip but before the stingers and frames are glassed in, the hull is a little flimsy, make sure your bow is not drooping. I built a cradle under the rear flat part of the hull and added a v cradle to bring the bow back up in correct position before installing my stingers. 1/2" is not much o...

Re: bilge and other compartment paint options.

Taping using white pigment drove me crazy. Had a hard time telling if I had air pockets or not. :help:

Jbo

Looked it up and they charged me $200.00 for shipping to middle GA. Don't know how they come up with their prices for shipping.
I'm just south of Macon.

And I have a loading dock and fork lift at my business. Don't know if that had anything to do with their charge to me.

CharlieK,

http://smalloutboardmotors.com/

I got my 40hp Yamaha from these folks. Nice motor and they are easy to do business with. And they know how to package for shipping without damage.

Clymer shop manuals will take you though maintenance to rebuild.
