Re: Cape Man's Dory

I'd tell him he needs to work on his Dutch, or papiamentu  You know between my long winded messages and yours Jaq is gonna have to design a new boat to pay the bandwidth. Craig, Congrats on gettin some wheels under that thing. It sure is a tempting time when it has wheels not to take it for a...

Re: Plans Question OB15

My plans are MUCH MUCH older than yours and I know they have made changes from the original. If you look at around the edge of the blueprint you should see a number those number should be in the order of the build. The first being the frame or jig, then the lofting of its panels. My plans are in the...

Re: Teak

I have worked with LOTS of hard wood not just on my last boat but building furniture, and other projects and from what I see in your picture and based on the thickness I wouldn't laminate it. Also, using the dust in epoxy to make glues without a doubt it will be darker than the stock its taken from....

Re: Cape Man's Dory

Not a lot of time on the boat the past two days but did get the hole for the anchor cleat (nice 8" pop up) and the grab rails cut. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/18985/anchor_cleat.JPG http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/18985/grab_rail.JPG CRAIG, I haven't been on this site near...

Re: FS17 low sheer

NOT meant to derail Joel's thread but.... "im building a ob15 with an identical layout, sheer lowered almost 5", Having built the OB15, one of the first to put decks on front and rear and one of the first to lower the sheer. I would not lower the sheer of the ob15 almost 5 inches..... The sheer on t...

Re: 18' Bosarge Wooden Skiff, built in 2000 (flat bottom)

Yes I know Oyster Bay Boats, even have one of the first little cards they made up with pictures of the boat, sure wish I could find one. The Caribiana is a great little boat would also love to have one of those. I'm going to have to buy or have someone build my next as I'm unable to. I've already ta...

Re: 18' Bosarge Wooden Skiff, built in 2000 (flat bottom)

NORT, My health is a roller coaster to say the least. The positive side is I'm still kicking, though I may never be able to build another boat  . I hope I'm able to own one again some day. I've contacted StickyStuff to see if he would like to build one for me, this may be my only option. IF I'm...

Joel, The Great White transom 54/12v is what I had. That thing is POWERFUL! I did have it reshafted longer and controls remounted so that it would work on a bow vs a transom. That Birdsall mount is a great thing unless you have figured on something else. Cheers, oh and the project is looking great! ...
