Finally warmed up enough to get some paint layed down. First coat of red is on.

Genuine eye candy. You'll get plenty of looks at the ramp.

Hello Fuzz,
I lived in Kenai for four summers just down the road from you. This boat is going to be named after one of my favorite fishing rivers that I am sure you have spent a lot of time on "Kenai".

Dave that is cool you lived here for a while. What years were you here?
Yep, I have done a little fishing on the Kenai. Moved here in 1963. I have fond memories of spending all day on the river and only seeing 2-3 boats all day. My fishing partner and I used to quit and go home if we could not bring 6 silvers an hour to the boat. Well not really a boat we fished out of a canoe for years.

Fuzz,
I was there from 1991 to 1996 on and off. We had a Greg Tatman wood river dory that we would fish from. That was the boat that got me started with the building bug. I would float from Skilak lake down to the mouth. You live in some beautiful country.

Finally got above 40 degrees and started painting the topside. The deck will be grey non-slip paint. I am shooting for next weekend to get wet.

Love that red! Going around the rubrail with the red instead of keeping it bright looks really sharp to me. Think I'll do that on the little cheap canoe I'm building. Sure look forward to your splash.

Lettering, graphics, and deck paint going on. What length tiller extension have builders been using?
