The decision not to paint the hull yet has proven to be a good one. Not sure how it happened but I somehow got a splatter of foam on the bottom of the boat!

Still making progress. Between the kids school and sports schedules it has been tough to string together a few hours to get things done. We did lightly fair the insides of the stern and bow compartments and gave them a coat of primer. I plan to touch up a few areas before putting the caps on but don't plan to give them the hull like finish.

The frames for the bow and stern hatches are built and glued to the caps. I'll run a router to trim up the plywood later this week and get to work on the lids. I also glued on the cleats to the hull to support caps. I'm in the making it up as I go along phase so while moving forward it's been slow.

Really good looking water drains you built. Matches the rest of your build perfectly!

Thanks QQ! Your build is looking great. I am excited to see the console come together.

We did a lot of little things over the weekend and we are getting close to attaching the tops and glassing them in. All the holes for the fittings have been drilled oversized, filled with thickened epoxy and redrilled. The plywood around the frames has been routered and ready for some fairing and sealing. Lastly the tops have been fitted on the cleats and frames. We are getting there and hopefully we'll be on the water in November.

Good progress! Are you planning to do anything to protect that drain tube in the rear compartment? Seems like it's right there asking for it, whatever "it" is. What will that compartment be used for?

The rear compartment will be for general storage. I went back and forth on what I wanted to do with the drain tube and decided to keep the bottom open underneath to give a little extra space in the compartment. I may tab in a support or two under the pipe for a little insurance.
