There are no side walls on the plans, just a rubrail.

I added the top rail myself i just used the same measurements from the sides to get my curve. it ended up being 2 3/4 inches thick when i was done.

I love it and will be doing that. Did you have enough extra from the scrap to do that? Or did you just use whatever wood you had available? Did you wood putty and glass it?


I'm placing my order soon and heading to Vero Beach next week to pick up the materials. Can't wait.

I'm pretty sure there is enough wood left over to make the top rail. I how ever gave my left over wood to a buddy who was making some pieces for his jet boat. Luckily there is a plywood guy around the corner from my house he cut pieces out of a full sheet for me.

I know it's a little late but this summer was the first time using the boat. It's unbelievably stable. I'm 175 lbs and can stand on the gunwhale of the boat with both feet and it doesn't take on water. Very impressed with it. Even caught a couple fish
