Wasn't able to build like I wanted so back to planning

Post by bwhite829 » Sat Mar 11, 2017 11:28 pm

So my bonus this year went to replace our car in favor of a more family friendly vehicle as our family is growing, so I wasn't able to build the HK15 like I wanted to, which is good in a sense, because I still have time to ponder my options. In doing more research today, I am wondering if a SC16 might be a better option....it looks like the capacity is far and away better than the HK15. I'm wanting to build something similar to a gheenoe, for backwater hunting/fishing. I like idea of having the HK15 but the SC16 might be a bit more what I need. I'm wondering if I can do a SC16 w/o the bench seats in the middle to open it up a little bit to have a layout blind?

Any advise/pointers/etc would be welcome!

In almost all those boats, the seats are part of the framing. Without that middle seat, the sides would wobble but you could use a sole (floor) and a spreader at the sheer.
