Fast Skiff 14 - strong back, transom, bow

Post by twogigovercu » Fri Jul 21, 2017 2:52 pm

I am building this boat and have absolutely no experience in this or even wood working. After a bit of research I think i found an error in my strong back, should I add a couple of boards as supports as indicated in the graphic here: http://www.bateau2.com/howto_texts/images/transomup.jpg ,Would it be the same for the bow?

This is the transom end of my strong back:

and the bow end:

being that the frame will be resting on the strong back, would it be wise to set the mid sections of the frame, and then drop my stringers in and raise the transom to the stringers and the same for the bow? There is no support under either end of the strong back for the transom or bow.

Thanks

I'm always lost when building a boat, it's when the boat is in the water, I know my way.

since i posted this question, I have since left the location of the boat, I was merely trying to help a friend build this boat. the boat is awaiting fiber glass at this point.
