FL14 trailer??

Post by HogWild » Sat Oct 21, 2017 7:25 am

I decided to build the FL14 and I was wondering if the 14-17 trailer would work for the FL14 sold at Academy Sports. :help: So many trailers, so little money!!! :D Still keeping eye on E-bay, Craigs List, Marinas, and Yards.

I assume it's this one?

I've looked at that one in the past and I believe it will work well. You're definitely under the weight capacity and the 12" tires are nice. You may have to play around with the bunks and a bow support but that's pretty easy.

Note I took the engine off when trailering and 6" of the transom hanging off the back bunks didn't cause any issues.

Also it show's you're in Sebastion, I got my trailer at B&G in Deland for $720 w/ tax/tag/title. It's a hike but I've bought a few from them and they have excellent prices and service.

Does anyone know if a Loadrite 14F1000wt will work for the FL12? I'm new to all of this and don't have a clue. The boat is finished and is too heavy for me to wrestle into the canal at our home. If I put it on a trailer it's only a few blocks to the launch. Are the bunks adjustable for height?

That looks like it will work pretty well, best thing about the FL12/14 are they're fairly light and easy to set the trailer up for. With springs you may have to play around with removing springs since the boat is so light. When I used all the springs from the factory the boat/trailer were in the air more than on the ground!
