MI12 (McInnis Bateau) Build Update

Post by Nick Werner » Fri Aug 23, 2019 9:57 pm

Hi Everyone,
It's been a little more than a year since I started building. Should have been done long ago. But, life.
Anyway, I thought I'd post a couple pics.

Pretty much following the plans word-for-word with one exception. I've used ash in some spots where I thought it would look pretty (seats-pretty much a veneer; rubrails; and breasthooks). Will probably add a little bit of weight. But I think she's going to live on a trailer anyway.

I'm happy. And it's been fun.

The boat has a beautiful shape to it.

Beautiful boat!
"that it isn't just an ordinary sort of boat. Sometimes it's a Boat, and sometimes it's more of an Accident. It all depends." "Depends on what?" "On whether I'm on the top of it or underneath it."

She's lovely. Can't tell from the pics wether she's the chine or rounded version. More pics please. :D

Chine version. The lines don't really show up well right now with the fiberglass and epoxy. I'm hoping they pop once I get paint on.

Here is an update. I’m very satisfied.
So close to launching. Just needs varnish on the woodwork, hardware and a touch up where a moth landed in wet paint.
