Questions about boat repairs with our resins and fiberglass: hull patches, transoms and stringers, foam, rot etc.

Fallguy and AA I will post a picture of it on the boat in a few days. I need to get a little more done on it before I do that. I am wanting to see how it looks myself
The size is 8 foot by 5 foot. It will cover from just in front of the windshield to just aft of the seating area. There will be about 4 foot of the stern that is not covered. I want room to work fishing rods and move around. One of my main fishing buddies is about 6foot three so I am trying to be a good guy and have it clear his head.

Hi,
You made a beautiful hardtop. I am looking forward to the next pictures. How do you handle such a big piece 8 x 5 foot ? With a pulley overhead or is it manageable for one person ?
Greetings from Karl

Karl it is not too heavy at this time. Maybe about the same as a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood. The problem is it is so bulky and no handles it is hard to handle. When I go to set it on the boat I will try to remember to weigh it. I sort of wonder what it will weigh myself.

I got the hardtop primed with a first coat. Next move is to get it back up on boat to see how it looks.

Did you read the hidden message in eric1’s post? I’ve “made it bigger” for you.

Now you need to sand it. I’ve sent you a box of paper all the way to 3000. I want to see it shine!

Assuming you’re not using lead based epoxy or making a sloppy mess of it, the numbers say right around 200. But that seems really high. I’m thinking i messed up the volume comparisons (sqft v sqyd v ft3)
