So I am not an expert on the topic fuzz. My first concern is not having to much Stern lift. That’s why I left them off to start. Easier to add then take away. If she feels heavy In the Stern on plan or not shedding water then I will add them. My gut is they won’t make a huge difference but who knows.

I know nothing about the effects of adding strakes so that is why I was asking. I do know if you need to add them when the boat is right side up it will be a lot of fun :help:
I am really looking forward to watching this one come together. The last one was a work of art

DT,

Last one was more than a work of art. It was a masterpiece. I have never seen anything as well done as what you did.

Yeah the scarfing will give you more area to tie into so the aft doesn't break off 8O

Built the mold for the bracket this weekend. Made it a little wider than the bracket on my current boat. The existing boat has a tub that is 48” wide. This one is 60” wide. Both are 30” deep at the center. Nice thing is that the boat is level fore aft and port to starboard. That makes things a bit easier. The bottom of the bracket will be 3” up from the bottom at the transom. It 5hen slopes up 1-1/2” aft to the clamping boards. Top of the clamping boat is designed to be 33” up from the bottom at the location that the engines mount off centerline which is 14.25”.

Clayed the corners but ran out before I was done. Happy to answer any question.

Is this bracket wider to be able to carry more weight than the last one? Are you going to carry the stringers out into the bracket? Is this one going to be a 3 foot longer mirror of the last one?

Yep, It is wide to provide more buoyancy. The stringers will get extended into the bracket. That is why I am building it now actually so I can get the stringers in the extension. They will be very similar with some tweaks. The extension is actually 4’6”.
