Ain't much to show, but we are starting on the beam socket moulds.

I am building 4 like sockets with the same mould. This is the beginning. I will try to keep the pics coming. Each socket will have about 2 yards of material or 3 layers of fabric to avoid deforming.

I'm hoping you get a nice release. Epoxy can be a pain to get moving off an internal mold.

FG, refresh my aging memory, is that a boom profile or purpose built profile?

Bottom fairing with balloons n cabosil.

I will use quikfair after the 3rd pass.

Quikfair is unbeatable for pinholes.

I am not sure I understand, does it cause more or less pinholes?

Pinholes bad.

Quikfair beats them.

My mixture is not as smooth when mixed to not sag.

I run about 3 passes and then go to Quikfair.

Yesterday I put 39 ounces of epoxy and thus 117 ounces (by vol) of fillers on the boat.

Today, we decrease batch sizes to 3@9 oz plus 6oz epoxy or 33 ounces, plus fillers at 3x vy vol.

The next batches will go on Monday and they will be about 3@6 plus a bit so say 20 oz resins plus fillers. After that, I'll switch to the silky smooth, feathery fine Quikfair.

The other thing to avoid pinholes is blasting the boat with air.

It is impossible to fair over dust holes.
