I hadn't really considered routing the holes. I'll have to try that on some scrap wood. Though I do like how the lip of the tube protrudes out a bit.

Also, I bought some felt strips for the racks to protect the rods from chafing,

Those do look great. You did a good job fitting/measuring, I'm afraid mine wouldn't look that nice. Good work!

I just ordered my trolling motor today. It is a Watersnake saltwater model. Bassmunn went with this brand and it had all positive reviews. It was several hundred $$ less than the leading brands.

Speaking of fishing, I've given up a few too many fishing trips lately to keep the building progress going strong. I'm off all next week, I'll have to set aside a morning to get some fishing in :lol:

Maybe some foam glued to the inside of the threaded end caps in case a rod gets slammed in by mistake. Might prevent tip damage. I really like those. I may fit a couple in on the port side. I have room in front of the casting deck bulkhead.
