Tan FS17 in Kit Gallery

Post by Coach » Fri Mar 10, 2017 10:10 am

Good morning,
Can anyone identify the Tan/Yellow FS17 in the Plans Gallery with registration# GA6601 UW?
I am hoping there is some build info buried somewhere in the forum that I can search.
Appreciate the help!
Mitch

We"ll try but all FS17's are built the same way (or should be).
If you have a specific question (probably about layout?), ask here.
Is it the bass boat style that you like?

Thank you Jacques,
Yes...I am doing research on layout and noticed the two seats that looked like they were folding and wondered if they were built into the stern decking.

My intention is to go with the FS17-LS and build in a forward casting deck similar to Joel Shines but include a gunwale similar to the FS18's.

I am planning a tiller and not center console, however i would like a grab bar with small seat/cooler in front. For rear decking I was thinking about a long narrow hatch that can be used as a fish box for those new england stripers! Then a couple smaller hatches on sides for portable 3gallon gas tank/other stuff.

Its ok if there isn't a documented build for that FS17. I just thought I would ask as I would read through it.

Appreciate the help. I will buy the plans first and draw up a layout that I think will work for me. Once thats done I may send it over to you for comments.

Thanks again.

Mitch

We will look for a building thread for that boat but what you ask is very feasible.
The FS17 is highly customizable.
Sketch a layout that you like and we will help you.

Long wide decks are probably what you want and for the sides (sheer line), the plans show how to add a side panel that will fit your taste without compromising the original structure.
It will all be easier to discuss once you have the plans in front of you.
