Re: FS14 Transom clamp boards

Post by Capt UB » Sun Oct 15, 2017 9:00 pm

Looks like I will just get by without a jackplate.
The transom is 20" +, ob is 18" from clamp to cav plate.
That does rise the ob by 2" which is good. Just need a little more setack. Could I put the camp boards on the outside of the transom for a bit more setback? I would do this after the transom has been glassed. I do not want to cut down the transom, I maybe getting a long shaft 15 2 stroke in the future. There will be a aluminum camping plate inside. Ob's will be bolted on.

If I have to, I made a jackplate 3" setback 2 up and 2 down I could use.

Just dreaming now... Long ways till I need to really think about any of this...

Re: FS14 Puzzle joint glue up and tape

Post by Capt UB » Mon Oct 16, 2017 10:00 am

FS14
I have the CnC kit.

Would I need to run glass tape on both sides of the puzzle joint, before assembling? Found the puzzle joint info, but did not see if I tape first or during the the taping of the hull.

Thanks, Bob.
