I was wondering if would be possible to build this boat in foam sandwich as well, would it affect the balance of the boat?

Yes it is possible but:
- it will not be much lighter
- it will cost 2 or 3 times more: more glass, more resin and good marine foam cost more than plywood.

Nice boat. Good to see someone else building in Brazil.

I'm building FS14_LS in Sorocaba-SP.

If you need anything from São Paulo, just contact me.

Regards,

Carlos.

Jacques, could i use 4mm depron for the sides and bottom and 25mm or 50mm for the frames and transom? Just wondering again.

Nice job!
What kind of plywood are you using? Any idea about its density? Is your supplier from São Paulo?
I'm planning to build a sailboat in Jaboticabal/SP city but I have no marine plywood suppliers around.
Good to know that others are also building boats here in Brazil.

Um abraço

Depron is polystyrene. Probably not but I never tested it.
Get a sample, skin it with epoxy and glass and test in bending. Let us know.
