Thanks guys, your comments are an encouragement to continue the work in the boat! :D

Last Sunday, after several attempts canceled due to bad weather, I went fishing on Queimada Grande Island (mostly known as “Snake Island” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjaz0mynQvk )

Just the ride itself compensates the day, beautiful place!

I was a hot calm day at sea but just small fish.

I´ll try again next month.

Thanks guys!! I went two more times at snake island, really like this place.

I got some progress this weekend!

Facing all the obstacles that nature are imposing, like rain, extreme heat and nasty horseflys, I got almost all boat faired started the primer!

Work with 36° C is not easy, some beers help! :D

Even more with these a**holes biting my legs.. :x

First coat of primer. Uneven due to heat, I thinned it but it got thick when rolling.

Well, I´m thinking about the anti-skid. No way to find Kiwi Grip or Griptex here. Some locals suggested to use aluminium oxide 100 grit, just pouring over fresh paint.

Do you guys have any suggestion ?

Thanks,

Carlos

Mix it with the paint more than pour it in. There is a FAQ/tutorial in the BBC site. I used their non-skid additive, but used sand for a different thing and it worked the same. Just make sure your additive is CLEAN.
