I'm also building an FS17, also(guessing by your name) on the cape. Doing it at my Mom's place in Orleans. Roughly the same shape you have there so neither of us messed up too bad so far.

Nice job. Great to see another Bateau builder here in MA.
Post a lot of pictures...it helps potential builders and entertains those who already have built.

PS I think your build thread should be in Builders Power Boats section so others don't miss it :D

I built a FS 17 six years ago. Great boat. I launch out of Wellfleet Harbor in the spring and summer. Center console with a 50 hp Honda outboard. It handles the Bay really well. Good luck on the built.

Westfield, Ma. the Whip City! I live one mile from the Agawam, Westfield town line. I have a Family house on Cape Cod in Eastham, Ma. Fish the Bay all summer long in My FS 17. Three more months and the strippers will be back.

Very nice, I was born in Concord and lived in Townsend until I was 11 years old. Is this hull a variation of the Flats stalker 18?

Been living in florida for last 20 years. So I am looking for a nice poling skiff.

Response to Joe2700 re Honda 50 HP motor:

I picked the Honda because of its weight. It was at that time the lightest four stroke 50 HP outboard I could find. Weight is a big concern on the fs 17. The motor has performed great. The other factor for the 50 hp, was the lake I use it on had a 50 hp limit. I can pull a 200 lb adult on water skis and tube with it when not fishing. The top end with one 200 lb adult, fully rigged for fishing, 12 gallons of fuel is approx. 32 mph on a calm sea. It cruises well at 18 to 20 mph and gets good gas mileage. I can fish all day trolling on Cape Cod Bay and use 1/2 a tank of gas. It is also a very quiet motor. Good luck on your build.
