Well, I’ve made some more progress. I have the seats installed, the inside faired and painted. I still have to paint the rudder and the dagger board, and varnish all the bright work. I purchased a sailrite sail kit for it and have the sail sewn together as well. I just need to get a #2 spur grommet die set to finish it.

Great progress!
1) How are you planning on sealing the hatch cover?
2) Is the hole in the forward bulkhead going to have an access port?
3) Will you need a limber hole on the bottom of the forward bulkhead to drain water ingress from the partners?

I’m just going to install a latch. The cover won’t be sealed. The forward bulk head hole will not be covered. I do have limber holes in the mast partner on the back side of the forward bulk head. Since it is easy to reach everything, Any water I will just mop up with a towel or sponge when I load it on the trailer (which I still need to get).

Curious to know what you did to protect your mast step box since in theory this is a high wear area due to mast rotation. Did you glass prior to assembly or just seal with epoxy? For mine I ended up making a fiberglass tube around an aluminum tubing mandrel, with the bottom end closed up by thick laminate, with the the tube bedded in cabosil/milled glass fiber putty. I added a drain tube out the bulkhead to keep it from filling up with water. This allowed me to use a sealed cover and make the area under the seat into dry storage.

The mast step is just coated inside with three coats of epoxy.

What will your "home" waters be for this nice boat?
Sanding is cathartic...

Probably High Rock Lake as well as a few municipal reservoirs that are a little closer to home.

Looking good. Almost in the water! :D

I still am not seeing the limber hole(s) you mentioned.

I'm not so concerned with drainage at the dock as I am with recovering from a capsize and then bailing. That's why I asked about the latch on the aft locker and the hole in the forward bulkhead.
