Post by harbormaster 18 » Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:10 am

ok maybe this has been answered I just haven't been able to find the answer here goes when looking at plans it shows how to build seating/stove/ice boxes on the hmd 18 and I was wondering if I can leave them out and not loose strength leave the small cabin open or is it nessasary for structural strength of boat. basically just build hull and cabin.

Ask for a specific boat.
In most cases, the frames are part of the structure, sometimes the seats are, sometimes not.
If those parts participate in the structure, the designer may propose a way around them: thinner frames, move something etc. but it depends on the boat.

Are you asking about the HMD19, if so you should be able to so. I'll let Jacques answer with the details.

If it is the HMD19. Tom is correct.
The major frames must stay but they can be moved a little bit.
The seats in the cockpit can move.
The vee berth is part of the structure but can be modified.
