Questions for Jacques & builders

Post by Jeff » Tue Jun 30, 2020 7:36 am

This question arrived overnight via an email: "Good afternoon, I have been looking at your boat plans the last few months. I think I might have it down to two kits. FS14 or D15.....my plans are to have a boat to cruise around and fish in the bays of Southern Ca. In both Los Angeles and San Diego we have larger ships pass by even in the bay....which one of these two would handle the chop better and provide a more stable ride. It would be me and the wife and two boys 9 & 5 to cruise or just myself and another to fish." Jeff

FS14, no hesitation. More freeboard, some vee in the bottom.
The D15 is nice for protected waters like in Floirda but the flat bottom will slam in a chop.
Plus, the FS14 has more capacity.
