SO I guess Ill resurrect my thread to post an update. For a while I couldnt get pictures to upload so I kind of just stopped but I have been doing some things with the boat. I took all my epoxy jugs and make a funnel stack to consolidate.

Made a "lathe" for my $100 20' maxgains push pule and coated 5 times with graphite epoxy while it spun.

Made and glued backing plates under my pushpole holders and under butt joints along the gunnel that developed cracked under use.

Made an "adapter" to be able to use the same holes in the deck but remove the platform and place a backrest with rod holders.

Been fishing a few times duck hunting a few times. Realized my 11yo hunting partner is not as limber as he used to be. He is slowing down for sure. Got a "casting platform" that Im going to use kennedy tie down system turnbuckle to tie down. Sorry everything has seemed to mix up on this post. I tried to post inline to make things easier to follow but something has messed that up.

Someone asked me, if I were stranded on a desert island what book would I bring... "How to Build a Boat."

Does that seat back mean you are ditching the casting platform? What is your top speed and what is the good cruising speed with the 40?

Thanks

No I'm not abandoning it I'm just making it so I can change it out quickly without needed extra holes all over the deck. Top speed was around 32 but I still dont have it propped correctly as I'm taching out at WOT. It also starts to porpoise at WOT. I've tried a new prop but haven't been anywhere to open it up yet. I'll report when I do
