2013 Texas Builder's Meet August 23-25 @ POC

Post by AtTheBrink » Wed Nov 28, 2012 9:14 pm

Are we going to have a get together this coming year? Possible locations? Dates? The wind is usually more cooperative later in the summer. As far as locations, Port O'Connor seems to be popular. Port A is ok. What about the Island? Packery channel area. I know it is close to last years meet but it opens up the whole Laguna and points south and there is gulf access through Packery.

POC was good for the first meet but some wanted to more than fish and as you know there isn't much to do there. Port A is high on my list as well as Padre. There are condo's on the water for rent with slips at Padre. We didn't have as big a turn out as in 11' because it clashes with the East coast meet. Maybe we plan around that, get some input with some of those folks that would like to make both. Don

They are having theirs in June, we could have ours in August. Sounds reasonable to me. And august is probably the best month for folk that want to go off shore and for the sight casting crowd too. Calmer winds. It would be nice to see some of the guys from the east and west come down. I like the Padre Island location. Something for everyone.

Don't give up yet. Having motivation issues in a very busy season. :? When I get caught up at work I'll be able to focus on recreational stuff.

I prefer the Port O'Connor site. Just say'in.

That is true. We'll see if there is more interest after the new year/spring.

Merry Christmas!!!

I'm interested....my boat will be finished by spring. There is no way I'm going to the Florida builders meet until they plan one for the Panhandle.....just way too far to go where they want to have it for me.

I'm sure on, and lean toward the Port O'Connor site, just because of less crowds and lotta slips right by the rooms. If there's a good turn out we kinda fill the place up and it's like "ours" for the weekend. There's good fishing out of Port A though. My favorite is South Padre or Port Mansfield. South Padre is pricey , Port Mansfield is a fishing only spot, not much for anything else. both are a long drive. I'll go where we decide, though. We'll heat this thread up after the holidays

Gettin' into the Christmas thing Dougster

Fellows, Come and meet up with the Central Gulf of Mexico group if you can't get a group in Texas. Bill
