Beautiful boat Pat4. If you would like and have not changed your prop yet I can run things through my prop calculators and see what they show. You said you have an Evinrude 90 HP, what year, model? What is the weight of your DE hull, passengers, gear, etc, as she leaves the dock. If you can estimate the length of the water line as she sets loaded at the dock. You have lengthened the DE25 so I have nothing to estimate off of here. I think that is all I need, if I need more I'll contact you. Oh, one last question what is the diameter of your current prop.

You definitely need a different prop, your lugging your motor right now and that is not good. We need to get you up to 5300-5500 rpm's.

Take care and love your boat. :D

Pat, that modified DE25 (=DE29 now) looks so good that I am thinking of producing plans for a DE29 with a well and swim platform as you did.

I am impressed by the the outboard in an enclosure. I see lots of vents in the side and transom. Do you feel that the engine gets enough air?
Did you compare max. rpm and speed with the cover open then closed?

Another question: do you know the exact weight of your boat? It looks like she is still in her lines despite the heavier bottom.

Opnieuw, proficiat.

A boat shop local to me has been making a line of boats with enclosed outboards that seem to be doing pretty well. I was skeptical at first but it does get you a certain look while maintaining outboard simplicity. I asked and the motor just pushes the cover up a little when it's tilted all the way up.

This boat looks fantastic, tons of detail and nicely finished! I really like the day-boat layout with the long cockpit benches and removeable tent cover.

Enjoy!

Yes, great day boat. Pat is in the Dutch cold and rain but that boat would be perfect for here in Florida.

Hi,
Thnx for all your compliments!

@Tom, my motor is an evinrude 90 e-TEC. Model 2020. Brand new and one of the last they’ve produced😉
I’m still using the standard fabric prop.
Not getting enough RPM was caused by lack of air.
By local evinrude dealer ( now a mercury dealer😉) figured out the problem.
We have installed 2 ventilators. One for fresh air in and one for air out.
This results in an extra 500 rpm and speed is up to 23 mph (38/39 kmh)
I don’t know the exact weight neither do I know the waterlength.
Exact length of the boat is 31ft 5” (9,6 mtr) that includes the swimplatform. Without length is 29ft 10”.

@Jacques,
You gave me the biggest compliment by thinking of producing plans for a DE29 :o
Ventilation was not enough for the motor to run as she supposed to do.
Only 1 of the 3 vents is for the motorwell. The others are for my diesel heater.

You’ re right about the waterline. It’s exactly as you designed.
My simple calculations made my assume that she would be at least 1 to 1.5 “ lower.
I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t.

I’ve less fuel than the plans show 150ltr (40 gl) but more water (also 120) and a toilet with 50 ltr ( flush and black water).
I added about 15 extra sheets of plywood ( 225 kg) and extra epoxy. I wanted to build a lighter pilothouse therefor I left the side windows out and put canvas/ strata glass in.
I raised the freeboard by 6”.
I’ ve got extra length so that’s also extra buoyancy.
This all together made me assume that the extra weight can’t be more than 300/ 350 kg.

Feel free to ask for more details,

Dank je wel voor het compliment!

Patrick
