NV23 June 2017 Tercek

Post by jctercek » Fri Jun 23, 2017 9:34 am

Pics of our NV23 finally in the water. We splashed it on Fathers Day 2017 in Beach Haven NJ, and very appropriate because this was a 3+ yr project for father and son. We started with the plans from Bateau and a stack of 30+ sheets of marine ply in Feb 2014. Topwater, if you read this, we're giving you credit on this build! We were about 3 months behind you and referred to your pics a lot to work out some of our issues/questions.

We opted for a closed transom and mounted the Yamaha 115 4-stroke on a bracket built by A&J in Miami. Final design ended up being a three-sided pilot house with a roll-up canvas on the back to give us a little protection in and out of Little Egg Inlet which can be very "wet" at times...

If your knocking around the bay on the southern end of LBI this summer, drop by the Holgate Marina and take a look at the Lynn Bahjes III... and about that name... My great-grandfather, John Martini, built the LB 1 and 2 (pic of the original LB in the trail below). My mom (Lynn) and uncles were always with him on the boat and he called them the "bahjes"... Internet search of every language on the planet comes up empty so I can't confirm that's what it really means !

Enjoy the pictures.

The original Lynn Bahjes and the LB III... There was an LB 2 in between but no pics of it.

Like the others have said really nice and congratulations. :!:
Sort of makes me sad to see such a nice build and no build thread :( I guess you can spend your time on the computer or building and you clearly chose to build. I have been on TopWaters boat and I love the NV23. they would be perfect for my neck of the woods. I am sure you are going to enjoy the boat :D
