AR15 Mast Step

Post by emmalroc » Tue Jan 10, 2017 10:29 pm

Hi! I'm in search of a mast step for my AR15. I'm at the point where I am fiberglassing my frames and want to put the mast step in before the deck goes on, as that would be easiest. I'm planning on using 470 sparring, as that seems to be the most compatible with my boat. So, does anyone know of any place I can find a mast step that would work with what I'm planning to do or even sparring? I've been searching and have not come up with much. Thanks!
Emma

Also one last thing- if I end up using 470 sparring, would I need to use a 470 sail or should I use the custom AR15 sail?

If you use a 470 spar, you should use the 470 sails. Often you can buy them used all together.

Sorry for the delay, with the forum updates I missed some questions.

Many of these dinghy sections like that of the 470 are pretty common. Check Dwyer Alum Mast Co. web page of their catalog which is well illustrated. If you have access to the spar trace the shape for reference.
