System Three Yacht Primer

How thick is it?

1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 per coat average?

I'd say less than 1/32. High build is relative. If you're trying to build a thick coat it's easy to apply successive coats, though.

Thanks Hank.

Got some little pin holes and other blemishes need to hide. Maybe 1/8 deep. I'm getting tiered having so much fun sanding QuickFair... Hoping to get a little help from the S3 primer, maybe 3 coats on the sides, bottom is getting graphite/epoxy coating. Not sure of how many coats I can get from a gal. FS14.

We all get pinholes, I think.
If the hull is fair otherwise, you can start with the primer and then dab the pinholes by themselves to minimize how much paint you're using. In other words, use the S3 as filler. This stuff doesn't go on thick at all.
I ended up using the S3 as a kind of guide coat because after light sanding, it was clear I had quite a few areas that needed help although not too much. I put extra coats of S3 on the low spots.

Thanks Tony. That sounds like a plan.
