if you really mean "work boat" then just paint it (adding non-skid sand to the paint) and be done.

If you want "not a super time consuming finish" then you need to do the following....

1. sand to feather the tape edges a bit.
2. run a thickish layer of fairing over the interior using a WIDE trowel (expose the high spots but you'll over all the lows in a pass)
3. sand it with 80gr on a standard RO
4. Prime
5. mask for non stick then use non-stick in first paint layer.
6. paint 3 more coats.
7. Go fishing.

Work boat is butt ugly. And i don't me some picture form a beach near Peter C butt ugly. I mean something from a beach up in Maine butt ugly. Embracing work boat is not for the faint of heart.
