Half gallons of paint

Post by Chuck H » Wed Jun 19, 2019 9:20 pm

I'm running out of things to do before painting my FS-17. I'm pretty sure it will take 1.0001 quarts to do the outside and 1.0002 to do the inside. Buying 4 quarts of Brightside costs about 60% more than buying 1 gallon. Pricing on other brands is similar. I understand volume discounts but this seems excessive.

Is there any way to scam the system and save any money on a gallon of paint in 2 colors? Do they sell a tintable base that I could have an auto paint supply tint for me? My area's oversaturated with paint suppliers.

Any and all ideas will be much appreciated.

Chuck

Buy 2 quarts for the bottom and one quart for the top and paint some kiwigrip on the deck.

Sorry, but shortcuts are not a good plan.

If you buy excess paint, then do a good job of storing it.

I watched a guy online squeeze the can and cap it and then release the squeeze to create a vacuum seal.

Otherwise, I like to shrink wrap my cans.
