Hydratech

Post by Tex 2009 » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:00 pm

I had a salesman with a large lumber supply warehouse in Houston tell me hydratech is Merantti BS-1099 plywood.
Is this true?

You're welcome, it's good to know that he was being straight up!

Look at the meranti sold here, it even tells in parenthesis that it's hydrotech

It is required to show the stamp on every panel, whether 1088 or 6566.

Is that Houston Hardwoods? That's where I bought the 2 sheets of 3/4 " plywood for my transom repair. When I bought 6 sheets for my SG15 build this site came out more economical including freight. By shipping to a local freight dock where I was able to pick it up myself it was quite reasonable.

Yes dave it was Houston hardwoods. And FYI, their prices are only a dollar or so lower than Bateaus, then you have to pay tax and the expense of traveling to pick it up. To me Bateau is very impressive with pricing.

I have my plans for the XF-20 but right in the middle of buying another house and moving so my plan to start the build is on hold right now but will be purchasing from this site when I get settled.
