3m 4200 or 5200 doesn’t really stick to starboard. It kinda tacks it together but a little bit of stress will pop it apart.
Use stainless steel screws. Drill and countersink.
Outdoor kitchen I built with black starboard boxes. All screwed together, no glue.

Pretty cool kitchen. I would always use mechanical fastenings. He will need to keep fish goo contained, so some sealant needed.

My boat build is here -------->

My 15 year old starboard fish cleaning table at the fishing shack could probably have benefited from some 4200 sealant.
Definitely would not pass FDA hygiene standards.
