Bateau adds on the Web

Post by Cracker Larry » Sat Apr 19, 2014 8:40 am

Has anyone noticed Bateau pop-up adds on the web lately? Yesterday I was on the THT site and had a pop up add from Bateau, didn't think much about it. Then last night was reading Fox news and got another one. This morning I was reading a local TV news site and had the same add appear.

Not sure how this works, must be a Google function or something  Have never seen one before yesterday, Not that it's a problem, better than viagra and auto insurance pop-ups :D

If it's something designed by the BWM, it's working.

No, never tried Viagra and had the same car insurance for 40 years  It is normal to get adds from places I have shopped, seen a lot from Bass Pro, LLBean and others, just never seen one from Bateau before and now several in 2 days.

I use adblock for google chrome and get no ads at all. It speeds everything up because it doesn't download all the ads. When you install it it tells you how many ads it is blocking by the address bar. None on this site BTW 8) Hull Truth is 10.

I've been seeing that ad for many weeks now, not sure when I saw it first. It doesn't say Bateau, just piques your interest so you'll click on it.

Yep, I have been getting the same thing since my new computer, some other ads too, someone is keeping track, no big deal but I'll try Noles solution.

Its called google remarketing. Sites and web pages you have visited follow you as you move around the web. If you click on the ad the advertiser gets charged for the click.

There's a little bit of Don Draper in all of us.

I use it from the other end...About two thirds of the pages that I've published are capable of generating revenue from sales of a tangible product. The other third are just out there for reference. I've watched the Google AdSense program for a while, but only recently has it been refined to the point that it's something that meets the standards that the boss approved. Now those reference only pages also have the opportunity to generate revenue, which is cool with me. :D

I also use the Google Merchant program to send a portion of my product database to them for keyword matching in searches. For things like they sell here, it would be worth looking into.
