Friend of mine just bought a brand new Browning .308 semi-auto. Beautiful gun, nicely finished, quite pricey.......MADE IN CHINA :help:
My last Browning was in 1983 a beautiful Japanese Auto 5. I traded it for a Beretta 686 Onyx a few years back.
I wish I still had my Auto 5, It fit me better and I shot better with it.

This is a 35 Whelen my father built for me about 40 years ago. Fagin stock, FN Mauser action, douglas premium barrel, timminy trigger, black hard chromed not blued. It has been on every hunt but one since it was built.

That's purty! Very much so. That should be a family piece for a long time. What's your effective clock killing range with that?

I tried to say something but God thought I was wrong and filled my mouth with saltwater. I kept my pie hole shut after that.

That's super nice Fuzz! I am amazed by the number of cartridges the 30-06 has produced! :D

My younger son (now 31 yrs old) is still fishing with the fishing rod I built for him when he was about 12.

Just can't get past the Kalishnikov part. I don't feel comfortable with AR's. That's why I bought a Mini 14, :D

Newt
The Sig Sauer model 556 is great non-Kalashnikov weapon that is optionally chambered in 7.62x39.
The nice part about the 7.62x39 is the ammo is cheap, much cheaper than 308.

I started to post the same thing but I wasn't sure if Ruger still offered them! :D
