The stretch is length...not width
The TX18 is a complicated hull shape, I could see scaling in one direction becoming confusing or problematic, but I'm not real bright.

The correct choice is GP21 center console with or without added tunnel.

Good luck.

Chuck

You are plenty bright :D I was waiting for a correct answer to the statement that you replied to.

Thanks for all the input!

I read DavidTX's blog which was very good until the end. It seems that many of these builds stall out so close to the end and either get sold or sit unfinished for quite a while.

I understand this. It took me three years to build my experimental airplane and there were many slumps. I've been flying it for a couple of years now but I still haven't painted it.

Seems like the smart money might be to find a partially completed kit that someone has lost their mojo on.

While you can certainly find some projects here that didn't make the finish line, there are a LOT more that have. If you built a plane from the beginning, you can appreciate the sense of pride that one gets starting with a folder in the mail, downloaded from here, or from a CNC kit. Buying someone's project is also great, but then you have to wait until its made available.

Is there some criteria in your use that calls for a 21 foot hull?

I do not need a 21' boat. I just thought I saw a reference to a 21' Texas Sled on a post back in mid 2016 but I must have read wrong.

18' + is the right size for me. I've been really looking at all the small fishing boat plans to make sure I don't miss something.

Thanks for all the helpful input!

I was away, sorry.

The TX18 plans include lines, panels dimensions and specifications for a larger version with more freeboard, 21' I think. I am not in the office now but will check next week.
