OK, another FS-14 question please

Post by Lon » Mon Jul 24, 2017 10:26 am

I'm thinking about building a FS-14 with stick steering mounted on either the side of the middle seat or on a small console just ahead of the middle seat.
Two questions: How is the throttle controlled using stick steering? Would a side mount create a significant weight distribution problem with my 200 lb body not centered in the boat? Thanks for answers/comments.

Lon throttle is controlled by an extension to the console or by controls under the deck. If you can find the FS14 built by Deuce4 in Copenhagen he did a wonderful job several years ago with a center console and a steering wheel. I am not sure about going side consoles if your going out on your own since it is a small boat. If your normally going out with 2 people then side consoles would be okay.

With stick steering, you can still stand in the middle of the boat.
